Wine.com Public API

Catalog queries give complete access to the Wine.com product catalog, including professional ratings, labels, styles of wines, and all other attributes associated with Wines.

The base URL for browsing the Wine.com catalog is:

http://services.wine.com/api/beta2/service.svc/format/catalog

The custom parameters that can be used with a catalog query are:

Parameter Description Example
offset The record to start from. offset=10
size The number of records to return in a list. Max is 100, default is 5. size=50
search The term(s) to search for. search=mondavi+merlot
filter Filters to apply to the product list. filter=categories(7155+124)+rating(85|100)
state The desired ship to state. This is optional. If it is not present, retail information will not be displayed. state=CA
sort What sort key should be used when sorting the list. sort=rating|ascending
instock Limit the results to in stock products only (should be coupled with the state parameter). instock=true

Filters allow you to narrow the catalog list down by specific product attributes. The format for using a filter parameter is:

filter=filter(attribute+attribute)+filter(value)

The supported filters are:

Filter Description
categories The category attributes to filter on. Examples would be the red wine attribute, or the cabernet attribute.
rating The range of rating scores to filter on.
price The range of price to filter on. Only supported when the state parameter is provided.
product The specific products to return. When this is specified, full product details are provided.

The sort parameter allows you to sort the result set based off specific product values. The format for using a sort option is:

sortBy=id|direction

The supported sort options are:

Option Description
popularity The products are sorted by popularity.
rating The products are sorted by their top professional rating score.
vintage The products are sorted by their vintage.
winery The products are sorted by the winery name.
name The products are sorted alphabetically, by the product name.
price The products are sorted by price. This is only available when the state parameter is specified.
saving The products are sorted by the amount they are discounted. This is only available when the state parameter is specified.
justIn The products are sorted by when wine.com first received them.

Some examples:

The following query returns all red wines from the wine finder, starting at record #11, with a list size of 5 products:

/catalog?filter=categories(490+124)&offset=10&size=5&apikey=key

The following query searches the product catalog for all products that contain the term's "mondavi" and "cab" starting at record #10:

/catalog?search=mondavi+cab&size=5&offset=10&apikey=key

The following query will return details for the product with an id of 48854:

/catalog?filter=product(48854)&apikey=key
